Mianyang has a solid industrial foundation, covering 39 of the 41 major industrial categories in the UN Industrial Classification. Its characteristic leading industries, such as electronic information, advanced materials, and equipment manufacturing, have been upgraded and strengthened, while emerging industries such as new displays, nuclear medicine, robotics, unmanned aerial vehicles, lasers, and the aerospace industry have accelerated their development. Mianyang has established one national innovation industrial cluster, one national advanced manufacturing cluster, two national SME clusters, three strategic emerging industrial clusters in Sichuan Province, and two SME clusters in Sichuan Province.
