Chinese airlines are increasing the number of flights between Kazakhstan and China.

Starting from January 23, 2024, the Chinese airline China Southern Airlines plans to open flights on a new route Almaty - Beijing with a frequency of 3 flights per week. This was reported by the press service of the Civil Aviation Committee of Kazakhstan. "However, with the increasing demand, China Southern Airlines is ready to consider increasing the number of flights on existing routes from Almaty to Urumqi and Xi'an, as well as from Astana to Urumqi, starting from the spring-summer season of 2024," the message said.

In addition, the airline is considering opening flights on the air routes Astana - Hangzhou, Astana - Chengdu, and Almaty - Chengdu in 2024. The committee also reported that the Chinese airline Loong Airlines plans to increase the number of flights on the Almaty - Hangzhou route from 3 to 4 per week in December of this year. In case of an increase in passenger traffic next year, the airline plans to increase the number of flights to 7 per week.

In turn, the Chinese airline Air China announced that it is considering increasing the number of flights from 2 to 3 per week on the Astana - Xi'an - Beijing route. At the same time, the airline will also consider the possibility of operating a third flight per week directly between the two capitals without landing in Xi'an. The committee expects that during the spring-summer navigation period of 2024, the number of flights between the countries operated by Chinese airlines will increase to 30 flights per week on existing and new air routes.
